Our Domestic Violence Service runs various residential and outreach programs to provide individual case management and a range of emotional and practical support for single women and women with children.
Residential Support Programs
Safe and supported accommodation for women with or without accompanying children escaping domestic and family violence. Our residential programs offer emotional and practical support to address the impacts of violence.
Outreach Programs
Support for women in the community who are at risk of homelessness due to domestic and family violence, and to help them to continue living in their own homes safely.
All our programs operate in a safe, supportive and child-safe environment in shared and standalone properties where race, culture and other differences are respected and valued.
Our specialist staff work with women to identify the cycle of violence, provide a safe space to share their experiences, support them to strengthen their resilience and assist with linking them to appropriate networks within the community.
In line with Tooraโs Practice Framework, we use strengthsโbased, person-centred case management that is underpinned by trauma informed care.
As part of our Outreach Program, we support women with advocacy, safety planning, assistance to obtain independent accommodation or to sustain a tenancy, as well as enhancing womenโs opportunities for social participation while living in their own home.
All clients are supported by their own case worker from intake and assessment throughout their individual journey. Toora staff ensure they receive a full wrap around service of supports they need to achieve their goals.
Our domestic and family violence service has a Child and Family Specialist who works very closely with the family to design a holistic case plan that will support childrenโs wellbeing by supporting their parent/carerโs well being.
