In line with Toora’s Practice Framework, the counselling service works within a strengths‐based, person-centred framework that is underpinned by trauma informed care. Our Counsellors use a wide range of evidence-based treatment approaches and therapeutic interventions such as motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioural therapies. Together, the client and counsellor explore goals and coping strategies to work through a variety of issues associated with past and present trauma.
Any woman who is over the age of 18. Women who are already in another Toora AOD program will get priority.
Counselling services for a 12-week package are free. Further appointments are negotiable based on the needs of our clients.
Through Self-referral. Please contact (02) 6241 7233 and one of our workers will undertake a confidential initial assessment of your situation to determine your suitability.
The Counselling Service employs experienced, professionally trained counsellors who are registered with an approved Australian counselling body. Counselling sessions are held in Civic ACT in a safe, supportive and welcoming setting. We offer flexible appointment times and outreach visits can be arranged on a case by case basis. Individual counselling sessions are offered in four, eight, and 12-week packages at 60 minutes per session.

We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations to ensure you receive your full treatment package. If notice is not given, then the session will be deducted from your agreed number of sessions.
